Quest HPI Roars in Africa

Gone are the days when bigger was better. If smaller is the new bigger... Then invisible is the new best. The HPI5/12S system is the ultimate in ultra low profile audio with super high performance.

Seen last month in South Africa’s Media Tech exhibition, Lighting wholesaler DWR blew everyone away with an exhibition stand that could only be described as stunning. Their hourly demonstrations of integrated lighting and sound  would have made any super tech nightclub seem wanting. The visual effects were augmented by an “invisible” sound system consisting of HPI5 high powered satellite speakers and just two HPI 212S sub bass.

The effect of multiple (16Ω) HPI5 speakers set up as a distributed system completely achieved the goals intended for the HPI5 project; to discretely wrap an architectural or themed space in even high SPL full range sound.  The HPI5 is small enough to fit inside box truss so a totally invisible system is possible.

The South African audio and production scene is one of the audio world’s best kept secrets. The local standard is very high by world standards and the music scene in Africa is a good news story that has escaped the attention of the popular Western media.

Quest is ably  distributed in Southern Africa by TADCO (The Audio Distribution Company) who also represent many very high end audio products. Needless to say, the TADCO stand was well patronised and a special thanks to Simon and Josh Oats and staff for their very competent efforts.
